Who we are...

Temple Beth David, a contemporary, egalitarian conservative synagogue is located in Irondequoit, a northern suburb of Rochester, New York. We are a friendly, active congregation of approximately 250 congregants and families, and welcome newcomers to our growing family.

Known for it heimish atmosphere, TBD encourages members to actively participate in all aspects of synagogue life - from Shabbat and Holiday services to our creative cultural and socal programs and to contribute to our children's appreciation of, and pride in their Jewish heritage.

Temple Beth David is dedicated to creating a comfortable spiritual and cultural home for its members, as well as visitors. Our services are enriching and uplifting.

Our Rabbi, Geoffrey Goldberg, brings to our temple a great breadth of experience. Educated in the UK, Israel and the United States, his theological, as well as his musical background is awesome. He is in the process of writing a book on the South-German synagogue chant tradition.

Our Cantor, Samuel Asher, is inspiring. He epitomizes warmth and joy. Our congregation enjoys a wonderful mix of Ashkenazic as well Sephardic influences thanks to Sam.

Our President, Ayala Emmett, is an enthusiastic and dynamic leader.

We have an excellent Hebrew School (The Irondequoit Hebrew Studies Center) located within the Temple. We also have an active Sisterhood, Men's Club, Youth Group, and Play Group. We have numerous committees which congregants can join to utilize their interests and talents. We have a gift shop and many exciting programs, fundraising events and classes for all ages.
